Opened in 1991, the name Bert England comes from a General Practitioner who together with other Rockingham/Kwinana residents raised money to open an aged care facility in the area.
Bert England Lodge was purpose built and designed to evoke a home like environment with four individual houses. It is conveniently located within one kilometre of Rockingham General Hospital, Woodbridge Medical Centre, a Supa IGA store and a Brumby’s Bakery. There are also several local shops including a post office and a chemist.
Ennis Avenue, the closest main road, provides easy freeway access into Perth and also to Mandurah and on-site visitor parking makes it convenient for friends and family to visit.
Bert England Lodge provides short term respite accommodation, from one day to a number of weeks, providing peace of mind for carers. It can also be an important step in the smooth transition of the care recipient into permanent placement.
