Some years ago, after seeing the completion and 100% occupancy of 10 Retirement Village self contained units, the Lions Club of Tocumwal felt that there was a need to provide Hostel level of care for the ageing population of Tocumwal and District. The reason being that it has twice the National average number of people aged 70 years and over living here.
With the generous support of our community, service clubs, the Lions Club and borrowed funds, we have been successful in providing a first class facility for older people requiring a low level of care.
The Hostel is operated by a Board of Management, which comprises 2 Lions members and 4 members of the general public. A Coordinator carries out day-to-day administration and qualified staff cares for the residents.
Fully supported accommodation is available at the Lions Community Hostel, where we have 17 long-term single rooms, 2 long-term double rooms and 1 room for respite care. Vacant permanent rooms can also be utilised for Respite care.

Prospective residents are encouraged to visit the Hostel to talk to the Coordinator about the accommodation we provide.
