At Illawarra Diggers, we are proud of our contribution to the care of the older members of our Illawarra community. Illawarra Diggers, which was originally founded in Mt Keira in 1946 to serve returning veterans of WW2, relocated to Corrimal in 1979 and has since grown to provide residential care and support for more than 100 men and women from all corners of our community.
A major highlight of our history was the visit of Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth in 1954.
Our present site has continued to grow with the acquisition of adjoining properties. Many new wings have been added and all wings have undergone major reconstruction and refurbishment to result in a very modern home.
Consistent with our not for profit charitable status, we have an overriding desire to ensure the best possible quality of life for all our residents.
The staff of Illawarra Diggers are a friendly committed group of people who are always looking to improve their skills and capacity to ensure we deliver the best we can for our residents.
The board, who act in an honorary, voluntary capacity, are committed to ensuring Illawarra Diggers does the best that it possibly can in seeking to ensure quality care and the best possible quality of life.
Illawarra Diggers is fully accredited by the Government Aged Care Standards Agency. Please also be assured that, should you ever have any concerns you should feel free to raise them with the staff or management at any time. We see any such comments as an opportunity for further improvements.
There are many, many positive stories of satisfaction with the care provided at Illawarra Diggers. We hope that, should you pursue our services for yourself or a loved one, that your experience a positive one.
