Absolute Care Therapy offers compassionate, professional, and experienced home-visiting physiotherapy and dementia consultancy and support for people living with dementia and their care partners.  We also offer customised dementia education, training, and mentoring to health care organisations and individual health care workers.

Physiotherapy and Cognitive Stimulation Therapy.
A Comprehensive physiotherapy assessment can help you clarify your strengths and identify areas that can be improved.  Exercise is proven to be very effective in helping falls, mobility and pain, and is has been shown to slow the decline associated with dementia.   However, if exercise is not your thing, I can often make other suggestions to help your situation, and most importantly can inform you of your options, so that that YOU are in control of YOUR health.

- Comprehensive physiotherapy assessment evaluating strength, joint range of motion, motor control, balance, falls history and pain.

- Falls Rehabilitation and Prevention Strategies

Support To Remain Living Independently at Home:
A Living at Home Assessment is a comprehensive assessment of your functional abilities, areas of strengths, and suggestions for maintaining or improving independence. This can be used to determine need for therapy, service provision, or future planning.

Dementia Education and Training for Healthcare Staff
Customised training sessions to upskill staff
Group training, mentoring, and individual coaching sessions with a focus on simplifying working with people living with dementia. Training has a focus on teaching staff to understand how the person with dementia may view the world, with the goal of teaching the importance of person-centred care.  Practical mentoring and real-life case scenarios are utilised, with the goal of empowering staff to gain an understanding of how their behaviour and choices can directly impact a client’s behaviour and wellbeing.  Staff receive a handout detailing key take home points.
