Bethany Aged Care Centre offers a caring and supportive lifestyle and community in a homely setting, where our residents and staff are family. Located in the charming coastal town of Port Macquarie, the Centre is close to Australian bushland, the beach and Lake Cathie, whilst also being just a stroll away from public transport, the town centre and local services. At our Centre, there are views of bushland, the coast and wildlife.
We recognise the importance of family and friends and encourage them to be an active part of our community. Our dedicated family area allows families to spend quality time and celebrate special occasions with their loved one.
As you wonder through our wide hallways, you can see fish tanks and residents’ art decorating our walls as well as other decor for that homely feel. Outside, we have a secret garden with water feature for residents to relax and enjoy in. We have our own onsite goodies store that is operated by both our residents and Lifestyle team.
We have strong ties and work closely with the local community, and over time we have built a strong reputation as an organisation that genuinely cares for others in need without discrimination.
You’re sure to feel right at home!
Bethany Aged Care Centre offers 24-hour permanent residential care including memory support and palliative care; and respite (short-term) care. We also offer all residents NDIS related services.
Our residents are in good hands with our care team of fully qualified and committed individuals who share The Salvation Army values of integrity, compassion, respect, diversity and collaboration. We adopt a person-centred approach to all the care that we provide.
Our staff and Chaplain go beyond the clinical to cater for the physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing of our residents.
24 – Hour care from our dedicated and personal staff
Each staff member has undergone reference and security checks to ensure they are fully qualified, experienced and are passionate about working in the aged care sector. Exercise and wellbeing programs
We take fun quite seriously! The Centre has a dedicated Lifestyle team that organises daily activities based on the suggestions of residents through regular resident meetings. These include outings, animal therapy, visiting entertainers, gardening, activity groups, movies in the theatre room and many more. We have close connections with the local schools and volunteer groups, keeping our residents engaged and active within the community. For those who wish to enjoy some quiet time, there are the gardens and lounge rooms, as well as a recreational room for individual activities.
Weekly exercise programs are arranged in conjunction with our Lifestyle team’s recreational activities. We also have an onsite hair salon, Centre bus and billiards table.
Visiting health specialists
Scheduled visits from the local GP and other Allied Health services as needed, including podiatrist, speech therapist, occupational therapist and physiotherapist.
Pastoral and chaplaincy services
We have a holistic model of care. The Centre Chaplains play an important role in bringing this to life. We also have a chapel located onsite. Whatever your beliefs, our Chaplains are here to assist in your spiritual and emotional journey, if you wish – because we don’t have clients, only family.
