Eastern Palliative Care (EPC) is a not-for-profit home-based palliative care service which offers a full range of support programs with the aim of improving the quality of life of individuals, those providing care, and families of those suffering life-limiting or terminal illnesses. Clients are referred by treating doctors, local hospitals, treating specialists, allied health professionals, by themselves, or by family members and friends.
EPC is a partnership between the Order of Malta, Outer East Palliative Care Service Inc. and St Vincent’s Hospital (Melbourne) Limited.
EPC serves the local government areas of Boroondara, Knox, Manningham, Maroondah, Monash, Whitehorse, and Yarra Ranges.
EPC’s services are provided for free to clients, carers and families. The majority of EPC’s funding comes from the State Government however they are reliant on community fundraising and donations to meet their demand. Please donate to EPC via www.epc.asn.au, consider EPC in your will or support their annual major fundraiser each October– Pound the Pavement 4 EPC which raises money for this important community service.

Our Roles
To people with a progressive, life-limiting condition, we provide a holistic, person-centred, specialist palliative care service which:
- Comprises nursing, medical, allied health and bereavement support
- Is delivered in the place a person considers home
- Provides support 24 hours, 7 days per week
- Normalises the process of dying for our community
- Neither hastens nor postpones death
- Ensures the right people have access to our services at the right time
