The Good Shepherd Home, has been caring for the aged in the Townsville community for more than 40 years. The Home is sponsored by the Anglican Diocese of North Queensland and is a registered not-for-profit organisation. The governance of the home is overseen by a local Council, comprising of a range of Townsville based community members who bring with them a diverse range of skills to ensure the Home’s mission and values align with sound management.
As a not-for-profit organisation, the number one focus of the Home is to provide excellence in care for our society’s most frail and The Good Shepherd Home is ready to be visited by family, community members or government auditors at any time. Quite simply, we welcome feedback that drives improvement in our operations because we want the very best outcome for our residents and their families.

- Single or twin rooms with or without private ensuite
- Specialist secure dementia care accommodation
- 19 deluxe rooms, offering a private outdoor area, ensuite, kitchenette and additional facilities
The Good Shepherd Home is fully accredited, and dedicated to providing residents with maximum privacy, security, comfort and choice.
To ensure residents live a fulfilling life, we offer a dedicated Leisure and Lifestyle Team, to ensure residents continue to pursue their passions or discover new ones. Activities such as day trips, a daily exercise program, arts and craft and entertainment provide the fun and companionship essential for a high quality of life.
