The QVCare Village is set in a beautiful location with blooming gardens and sweeping water views of Hobart’s River Derwent. In this enviable setting, we provide for all our residents’ needs including hairdressing, pool and gym, extensive recreational activities, and even a cafe. Over our long history we have become deeply embedded in the local Lindisfarne village, making it easy for residents to connect to their choice of shopping and services or a favourite restaurant or coffee shop. Our regular outings and activities expand horizons into the wider Hobart community.

Residential Aged Care Respite

QVCare has three designated beds for short-term care which are allocated according to need through the Australian Government’s centralised allocation system. Information about applying for Residential Aged Care Respite is available here.

Independent Living Units

QVCare has 48 units where people live independently and can call on support when needed. Our self-care units (Independent Living Units) are located on site at Milford Street, Lindisfarne which includes Victoria Mews, Esplanade Units and Lincoln Street Units. QVCare offers a wide range of services and facilities combined with a relaxed lifestyle in attractive landscaped gardens. We recognise our residents’ desire to remain in their own homes within the QVCare Village for as long as possible and we support residents for as long as it is possible to do so, given individual circumstances.

We coordinate and provide flexible, appropriate care and support to assist residents to maintain their quality of life. Services include domestic help, personal care, meals and assistance with daily living activities, as well as emotional support, therapies and activities.

We take care to assess the wellbeing, welfare and appropriateness of support for each individual. Services can be negotiated and accessed on a temporary or permanent basis and these may be provided by QVCare or other community care providers.
